Before Christ, the only people who were considered God’s people were the Israelites. Christ’s death and resurrection opened the doors for all people to be a part of God’s kingdom.

This is demonstrated first by the fact that the magi from the east came to worship Jesus.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
(Matthew 2:1-2 ESV)

We are not provided with many details about the magi, except that they were not from Israel. They were Gentiles.

Just as the Gentile magi were invited to worship Jesus, so are we. This is a great gift from God. Let us give thanks to God for giving us a place in His kingdom.
