Advent 2019 – Day 6

While we wait…

let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently… clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

Romans 13:11-14

We behave in this way out of the gratitude that comes from knowing we have been rescued from death. We have been given freedom from chasing that which will never satisfy: the desires of the flesh.

While our actions do not determine our eternal destiny, it demonstrates where we have placed our faith. Evaluate yourself, and ask, “Am I thinking about how to gratify the desires of the flesh, or am I confident that Jesus provides me with all I need?”
