What does it mean to have peace with God? Romans 5:1-2 states the following:
Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
English Standard Version
This passage is loaded with very deep theology, which is important to understand. However, I want to only say one thing about it, and then encourage you to study the passage more deeply.
Peace with God means that our relationship with Him is restored. Recall yesterday’s devotional, which was about the meaning of peace: made complete or whole. Our relationship with God has been made whole. There is no longer anything that will stand in the way of us receiving all the benefits of being in right relationship with our Creator and Father.
There is also nothing in the way of us coming to God with worship and thanksgiving, which is what He deserves and is actually what our souls need on a daily basis. Take a moment to reflect with gratitude on the gift of peace that has been given to you through Jesus.
